BOUT THE TEXAS BREWSHED ALLIANCE
Destination Brew Fest serves as launch of the Texas Brewshed Alliance, which works to preserve our most critical natural resource: clean groundwater. The Brewshed is a collaboration of breweries, conservation groups, local businesses and beer lovers joining together to inspire communities across Texas through fun, educational events and engage them in taking action to steward their local lands and waters which are vital for brewing exceptional craft beer.
Destination Brew Fest celebrates crisp, clean lagers and the unique flavors & complexity found in mixed-culture and wood-fermented ales. With a curated list of participating breweries, guests will taste a unique range of brews throughout the day. Check out the full beer list below!
WHAT'S IN A "BREW DAY"?
Malt, hops, yeast....and WATER! We've gathered the experts behind the four fundamental ingredients in beer to showcase the importance and effect that each has on the brewing process. Be sure to stop by the "BREW DAY" area. Great ingredients = great beer!
Texas Yeast Lab - Totally into [brewing] science?! You'll love learning from these experts about the magic of fermentation and the role that yeast plays in producing certain flavors in craft beer.
Yakima Chief Hops - Preservative, bittering, aroma, flavor....different hop varieties produce unique qualities in our beer. Visit one of our favorite suppliers from the Pacific Northwest, 100% grower-owned YCH for a Hop Sensory Experience!
Blacklands Malt - Local malt makes for truly local craft beer. Since 2012, Blacklands Malt has blazed the trail for Texas-grown malting barley statewide, providing brewers with access to local malt for the first time in Texas history. Visit their vintage truck inside the festival tent to sample the Texas-grown malt that goes into many local brews.
And last but not least, the Texas Brewshed Alliance will be sharing their research and knowledge on the impact that unique water sources have on our beer.
Taste rare beers from around the world, have an insider’s conversation with beer fanatics, and walk away with sweet gear – including a YETI tumbler! The experts at Craft Pride will moderate a guided tasting and panel discussion with some of the top destination brewers from Texas and beyond.
